The Erie Codgers use modified slow-pitch softball rules designed to

allowing courtesy runners, prohibiting sliding, and permitting players to overrun bases. Teams field extra defensive players to reduce the amount of ground each player must cover. These adaptations help players remain active and competitive while emphasizing enjoyment of the game.
